This flight leaves Vancouver at 20:45 and heads for its home country. It gets to the London Heathrow airport at 14:00 on the following day. Be ready to do some shopping as the next flight to Johannesburg is only available at 17:50. From there brace yourself for a night flight of about 12 hours or so. The flight reaches Johannesburg at 06:35 on the 3rd day.

Virgin Atlantic Airways

This flight leaves Vancouver at 18:05 and flies to London where it arrives at 11:45 the following day. Be ready to spend the whole afternoon in London where the next flight leaves for Johannesburg at 18:00. The arrival time in Johannesburg is 07:05 on the 3rd day.

Lufhansa

If you are looking at taking off just before the sun goes down then consider this cheap flight to Johannesburg from Vancouver. It takes off from Vancouver at 15:40 and flies to Frankfurt. It gets there at 10:50 on the following day. Frankly you would have to book this flight if you are willing to spend a bit of time in Frankfurt as the next flight to Johannesburg is available at 22:35. It arrives in Johannesburg at 10:00 just in time to prepare for lunch.

South African Airways
